Day 7: Milford Sound! And Lake Mariann

I'll let the Sound speak for itself.

On a split second decision, we decided to hike to Lake Mariann, just before sunset. After losing the trail twice, scrambling up roots and rocks, and a rolled ankle, we made it!

After such a busy day, we figured we deserved a nice warm bed to sleep in, so we drove through the night to the only open motel in Te Anau, which turned out to be a gem! NZ$110/night for three people. Not bad!
