Day 5: Queenstown!

Next up was Queenstown! Instead of paying for the gondola up to the top of Ben Lomond, probably the most popular hike in the area, we hiked around Mt. Crichton which features beautiful mountain views, the clearest creek I've ever seen, a waterfall, tunnels and a restored settler cabin.

After our hike, we toured the town. Queenstown is definitely the most touristy place we went and the town was crawling with skiers and snowboarders as it is still wintertime in the South Island, but probably because it is so beautiful there! We started at the Queenstown gardens, then made our way down the lake shore to Fergburger and Mrs. Ferg's Gelato for dessert. Fergburger is probably the most iconic burger joint in the city and for good reason. To top it off, we got a cotton candy sunset. A great end to a great day!
